The TRAIL hooded jacket for spring and autumn has just the right features including lightweight insulation, breathable materials, a fit tailored for off-road riding and all-round protective features. Assos was looking for something that would pair well with their SS and LS TRAIL jerseys in the cool weather conditions of spring and fall, where temperatures often change from day to day.

Because Assos knows that the front of the body, shoulders and head in particular need to brave the elements, the company has developed a new ultra-soft and flexible fabric called RX TECH Melange specifically for these areas. This beautiful blended fabric is roughened on the inside to create a lightly insulating layer of protection, which is especially welcome on those long, winding descents from high altitudes. The high collar on the scuba-style hood acts as a built-in neck guard when zipped all the way up. It should be mentioned that the hood itself is not compatible with a helmet. Assos thus wanted to ensure that your head stays warm before and after the ride, whereas during the ride itself the neck protection is sufficient and there is no risk of overheating. The back panel of the jacket is made from the same tried and tested circular knit triangle textile used on the TRAIL jerseys: A lightweight, flexible material that is exceptionally breathable and wicks moisture away from the layers underneath. Assos has made the sleeves from the high-performance RX fabric, which is slightly roughened on the inside to provide some extra insulation. The elbows are protected by the abrasion-resistant dyneRope.

Cut in trailFit, the jacket is close-fitting and tuned for trail bikes, but is also ready to go at any time for casual use. The double zipper allows you to wear the jacket like a cape on the grueling trail to the summit, or let the air in from above in the traditional way. Assos has also added a single internal pocket to the design for small items, with a built-in flap to keep keys and other valuables safe.
